Campus Life Promotion Video Contest

Award-winning works now on view!  2024/11/7

The award ceremony for the "University of Tsukuba Campus Life Promotion Video Contest" was held on November 3 and 4 at the "Study with me! JV-Campus" project site (Room 303, Building 3B), an academic recognition project of the SOHO Festival. The results of the Jury's examination are as follows.

Contest Overview

"University of Tsukuba Campus Life Promotion Video Contest" is to be held on the University of Tsukuba Box within JV-Campus, an international online education platform broadcasting from Japan to the world.

Why not share the allure of the University of Tsukuba with future students (high school students and international students) who may study with us soon? We look forward to your participation!

 

Important Notes

Please read these application guidelines carefully before entering the contest. By submitting your entry, you agree to these guidelines. Entries that violate or may violate these guidelines may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.

 

Entry Guidelines

Video Theme

WHAT: Please showcase attractive aspects of campus life at the University of Tsukuba! Highlighting aspects you find appealing, such as classes, educational systems, facilities, clubs, and part-time jobs.

TO WHOM: Future Tsukuba students, both domestic and international.

Eligibility

  • Students of the University of Tsukuba (individuals or groups).
  • Multiple submissions are allowed.

Video Submission Guidelines

  • Any format is acceptable (live-action, animation, CG, slideshow, etc.) .
  • The video should be no longer than 5 minutes (length is not a criterion for evaluation).
  • Please create a thumbnail (the thumbnail will be evaluated).
  • Include English subtitles in the narration and captions to make the video accessible to bothdomestic and international viewers.
  • Videos that have won or been selected in other contests are not eligible. Additionally, videos submitted to other contests cannot be entered.

Guidelines for Video Productio

  • Ensure that any music, images (illustrations, photos), or other content used in the video do not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, as well as portrait rights, privacy rights, and other legal rights. When using free materials, comply with the terms of use from the provider.
  • Obtain consent from all individuals featured in the video. For minors, parental consent is also required.
  • Pay attention to safety during filming and adhere to traffic rules and public manners.

 

Awards

  • One Grand Prize and several Excellence Awards will be presented.
  • Grand Prize and winning entries will be featured on the JV-Campus University of Tsukuba Box and the official University of Tsukuba YouTube channel.
  • Exclusive experiences for a limited number of top winners will be given as special prizes.
    1. Overseas visit to our affiliated institution (currently arranging, for up to 2 Grand Prize winners).
    2. Visit to a professional video production site (Exclusive to upper prize winners).

 

Application Process and Schedule

Entry: 2024.7.1-9.18

Please enter via the entry form. After registration, you will receive an email from the secretariat. Please ensure you can receive emails from jvc-renkei@un.tsukuba.ac.jp. You are not obligated to submit a video just because you entered. So, if you are interested, feel free to enter!

 

 

Video Submission: 9.1-10.7

Please upload your video in the way we will inform you by email after your entry.

First Screening: 10.1-10.15

The secretariat will verify if the video meets the application requirements.

Public Release & Second Review: 10.16-10.31

The videos that pass the first screening will be publicly available on the web. Judges will determine the winning entries, including the Grand Prize. Please note that we cannot respond to individual inquiries regarding the judging process.

Results Announcement & Awards: 11.3-11.4 (during SOHO Festival)

During the university festival (SOHO festival), we will announce the results and present awards at the "Study with me! JV-Campus" venue. The Grand Prize and winning entries will be shown on the JV-Campus University of Tsukuba Box, as well as on the University of Tsukuba's official YouTube channel. Additionally, they will be featured on the University of Tsukuba's official website.

 

Ownership Rights

The copyright of the submitted videos belongs to the creators. However, the organizers, the Office of International Online Education at University of Tsukuba, and the Bureau of Public Relations of University of Tsukuba, reserve the right to use all or part of the videos for JV-Campus and University of Tsukuba publicity purposes, free of charge. They may also make partial edits or modifications within the scope that does not compromise the original intent of the production.

 

Handling of Personal Information

  • The personal information you have submitted will be managed by the Office of International Online Education at University of Tsukuba in accordance with the Tsukuba University Personal Information Protection Management Regulations and will only be used to the extent necessary for the purpose of communication related to this contest.
  • Except when required by law or other regulations, disclosure or provision to third parties without the individual's consent will not be conducted.

 

Other Important Notes

  • The responsibility for any infringement of others' copyrights or portrait rights lies with the creator, and the organizers assume no responsibility.
  • Videos containing content deemed to be against public order and morals, violent expressions, or defamation of third parties will be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.
  • Even after the judging, if the organizers determine that there has been a violation of the entry conditions or other important notes, the award may be revoked.
